Why TRNC? Why Near East University and Why Faculty of Health Sciences?

Living in TRNC is a privilege… Living in the middle of the Mediterranean and civilizations… It is safe… It is peaceful… Respect for humans, animals and other living things is palpable. It is one of the countries that coped best with the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic…

It is a privilege to study and work at Near East University… Our school layout; It is in the center of Northern Cyprus, close to the airport and ferry.

In addition to a large University Hospital, NEU has an Animal Hospital, museums, and valuable exhibitions that open every week… Our university is based on a solid triangle of science, technology and art, and our faculty makes maximum use of these own resources.

It has been a university that welcomes public institutions and the public throughout the pandemic (e.g. production and distribution of protective masks)…

It has student-oriented systems… Free quarantine opportunities were provided to students during the pandemic…

Online education started very quickly and well-equipped… It is an exemplary university.

Active Student Clubs are an indispensable part of education and make the learning process enjoyable… Rich library conditions support education… Internship and job opportunities are provided with major hospitals and additional institutions…

Our university and faculty are part of quick solutions, not problems…

Our difference, our effort to make a difference!

First of all, we strive to make a difference with the education and scientific studies we provide. Then, we aim to ensure that the students we train are individuals who will make a difference in their professional lives. One of our most important values is to raise our graduates not as acceptable healthcare professionals, but as “preferred and sought-after” healthcare professionals.

We are in a big race and our first race is with ourselves… We do not have the luxury of repeating the day before. We have to move forward step by step. To be better, to be more beautiful, to be more successful… However, our goal is to be among the best Health Sciences Faculties in the world at the end of these steps.

We are in the process of change and transformation;

We have broken many new ground in the 2019-20 academic year with our young and dynamic staff and competent consultants, and we will continue to do so.

Science Day and Career Day, which were held with high participation, were extremely productive.

New generation courses such as 21st Century Competencies and Learning to Learn have been launched.

At the graduation ceremony; For the first time, awareness was raised about the health and well-being of the planet, apart from human health, and an oath was sworn to protect it.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have become an exemplary faculty where problems are overcome by using Problem-Based Teaching Methods in practical training…

We started to make the scientific voices of our faculty’s academics and students heard with the section written by us on the website…

We would like to wholeheartedly thank all our senior management, professors and students, and our stakeholders inside and outside the university for being a part of us. We hope you will always be with us to grow common sense and look to the future together.

Regards,

Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz Özgören,
Faculty of Health Sciences, Dean
